Swashbuckling India opener Rohit Sharma answered all his critics with a bang in Port Elizabeth against South Africa.

India banked on Rohit’s magnificent hundred – to beat South Africa by 73 runs and eventually to seal the series 4-1 with one-match to be held in Centurion on Friday.

Kohli and Co went into the record books as it became the first Indian team to win a bilateral series in South Africa.

Rohit had witnessed a torrid time before the penultimate ODI of the six-match series. Further, it seemed like he left his lucky bat back in India and received a lot of backlash from social media users.

So much so, people also wanted Team India skipper Virat Kohli to drop Rohit from the team.

However, Kohli backed Rohit throughout and it paid dividends when the team needed the most. Rohit brought his 17th international hundred in the fifth game as India posted 274 on the scoreboard. Rohit looked fluent in the middle and played with great authority.

Meanwhile, India bowled South Africa within 201 runs to wrap up the series. The spinning duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav did the bulk of the job once again. The duo returned with six wickets rattling South African batting line-up. Hardik Pandya provided the much-needed support picking two wickets.

Hashim Amla tried to create some resistance, however, ran out partners at the other end. India played good cricket throughout the series and deservingly won the series.

Ritika answers Rohit’s critics:

Rohit received the much-needed support from his family and his teammates. While cricketing pundits and fans hurled harsh comments at him, Rohit had his constants by his side.

However, after Rohit completed his century, his wife Ritika Sajdeh answered the critics in style. She posted an emoticon of the ‘dab style’ from her social media handle on Instagram.  She also tagged her husband Rohit in that post.

However, nobody doubted Rohit’s calibre. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly applauded Rohit’s innings stating class is permanent.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma dedicated his century to his wife Ritika. Also, this can be the best gift for Ritika on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

In addition, India will play the final game of the series on Friday at SuperSport Park in Centurion. A three-match T20 series will follow after the culmination of fifty-over series.
