The future of MS Dhoni’s continues to be the talk of the town. The former India skipper has not played a competitive game since the end of the World Cup in July. As soon as the World Cup ended, he took a sabbatical from the game and later extended it. Consequently, he missed the series against West Indies, South Africa and will also miss the upcoming one against Bangladesh.

Amidst all these, there was confusion all around over his career as neither the team-management nor the selectors made any statement. MS Dhoni, on the other hand, remained away from the spotlight like he always does. But recently, chief selector MSK Prasad made it clear that the selectors are moving on from MS Dhoni and would give chances to youngsters.

But that statement from Prasad has not at all taken the spotlight off MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma recently became aware of it. The opening batsman, who will lead India against Bangladesh in the T20I series, was addressing the media ahead of the series-opener when one of the reporters asked him about Dhoni’s international career.

In reply, Rohit Sharma once again refused to speak much on the issue although he came up with an interesting reply. The right-handed batsman took a dig at the scribes and made it clear that the team is not focusing much on the retirement rumours.

“We don’t hear anything about these things. You guys make these things up,” Rohit said.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that MS Dhoni is unlikely to play this year. Thus, he looks set to miss the limited-overs series against West Indies too. Rohit, nonetheless, will be looking to continue his fine form when he leads the team. Rohit is entering the series on the back of a highly successful Test series against South Africa. The first T20I will take place on November 3 in Delhi.
