The incident took place in the 18th over when James Neesham wanted to give Kings XI Punjab the death-overs push. The Kiwi all-rounder played a pull shot to the deep mid-wicket region, which Ruturaj Gaikwad kept tracking and did not lose sight of. As the ball began grounding, the 23-year old put the dive to catch and fortunately it stuck on his palms as Neesham had to depart for two off three balls.

In a must-win game for KXIP, they managed 154 in 20 overs on the back of Deepak Hooda’s unbeaten 62 off 30 balls.
