Virat Kohli’s purple patch in South Africa continues, as he scored his 34th ODI century in the third ODI at the Newlands in Cape Town.

Kohli scored his second hundred in three matches in the ongoing series. Kohli scored 112 runs in the first game in Durban and then scored an unbeaten 46 in the second ODI.

Kohli’s performance in the limited-overs format has been outstanding of late and these two centuries in the ongoing series has stamped his authority over the rest of the batsmen in the world.

Kohli’s century took India’s score past 300, as he scored a mammoth individual score of 160 not out. India finished the innings at 303/6 in their 50 overs.

Kohli came to the crease in the very first over, as Rohit Sharma failed once again and got dismissed for a duck. Shikhar Dhawan also scored an impressive half-century but was unable to convert it into a hundred.

Kohli’s innings was appreciated by some of the current and former cricketers.

Kohli is regarded as one of the greatest modern-day batsmen. Even his compatriots have acknowledged his talent. One of them being David Warner. Warner took to Twitter to appreciate Kohli’s innings in the second ODI.

“He’s on a different level this bloke wow. What a player @imVkohli”
