Defending champions Mumbai Indians have got off to a mixed start to their 2020 Dream11 IPL campaign. After having succumbed to a five-wicket defeat to former champions, Chennai Super Kings, the Rohit Sharma-led unit came back brilliantly to continue their dominance over Kolkata Knight Riders courtesy a thumping 49-run-win in the second game.

Skipper Rohit Sharma’s stylish 54-ball 80 served as the cornerstone behind Mumbai Indians’ victory; one that not only helped them gain their first points in the 2020 IPL but it also paved way for them to snap their six-match losing streak in the United Arab Emirates.

Sharma looked in cracking touch right from the outset, unleashing his full repertoire of shots at the expense of the Knight Riders bowling attack. Rohit was particularly lethal against Pat Cummins, who continued to bowl short and the ‘Hitman’ continued to smoke him with his trademark pull strokes.

Rohit’s whirlwind 54-ball 80 saw him become the leading run-scorer against KKR and also become the 4th batsman to smash 200 sixes in the history of the IPL. Rohit’s belligerence paved the way for MI to score 5-195, a target which proved to be a bridge too far to scale for KKR as Jasprit Bumrah put on a clinic in fast bowler, killing the contest in his second spell by dismissing both Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan in the same over.

Mumbai Indians mentor Sachin Tendulkar posts a photo on Twitter; Monty Panesar Reacts

Meanwhile, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is the mentor of the Mumbai Indians franchise, took to his social media accounts to post a picture of himself on the occasion of World Tourism Day, which he captioned as-

‘Making a trip to Dreamland this #WorldTourismDay!’

Reacting to the photo, former England spinner Monty Panesar cheekily asked the Master, whether he was dreaming about Mumbai Indians winning their fifth IPL title this year.

‘Are you dreaming of Mumbai Indians to win this IPL. #IPL2020 #IPLinUAE #MumbaiIndians’’- Monty Panesar wrote.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will square off against Royal Challengers Bangalore [RCB] in their third IPL encounter on Monday [September 28]
