Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar shared his heartfelt condolences to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away at the age of 93 in AIIMS. The stalwart breathed his last at 5:05 PM on Tuesday (August).

Like Tendulkar, many former and present political leaders mourned the loss of Vajpayee. He was a former Prime Minister of India.

Vajpayee was admitted to the hospital on 11th June due to kidney tract infection, chest congestion and low urine output. His health condition had been declining quite rapidly. He had suffered a stroke back in 2009 which has weakened his cognitive abilities quite considerably. It also led to him having dementia.

However, it is an end of an era with the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee owing to the political field. Sachin Tendulkar is currently enjoying his life outside cricket for the last six years.

However, Vajpayee has always been a firm supporter and a devotee of Indian cricket.

“It was Atal Ji’s exemplary leadership that set the foundations for a strong, prosperous and inclusive India in the 21st century. His futuristic policies across various sectors touched the lives of each and every citizen of India. It was due to the perseverance and struggles of Atal Ji that the BJP was built brick by brick. He travelled across the length and breadth of India to spread the BJP’s message, which led to the BJP becoming a strong force in our national polity and in several states,” PM Modi said.
