Sachin Tendulkar Reacts on the Comparisons with Virat Kohli

On every record that Virat Kohli breaks for team India, there would be the name of Sachin Tendulkar visible on it. Such has been the class of both the players over the decades for the India team. And as quickly as possible, people started comparing both the legends in numerous ways. Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar himself speaks on the comparison.

Sachin Tendulkar had retired from the game of cricket with numerous records under his belt. Meanwhile, the only player who is on course of shattering those records has been the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli.

Sachin Tendulkar quoted the bowlers of those generations were pretty different compared to the current generation. Further, he doesn’t want anyone to get compared to the other individual, as the game has evolved on a regular basis.

He feels players should not be compared even within the generation, as well. Furtherly, Sachin Tendulkar also pointed out the change in surfaces and the width of the boundary lines.

“I think first of all, like how Virat has said and I have been saying for 24 years that I have played. I have never believed in comparison. Each generation if you take from the time cricket was played from day one to now, the change has been constant. Then each generation played differently, there were different rules, there were different restrictions, there were different surfaces, there were different balls also at times,” Sachin Tendulkar quoted.

”So a lot of things, boundary lines if you see earlier, I have played where the ball had to hit the concrete in Australia, things have changed over the years. I personally don’t feel one should be comparing different generations,” he added.

Every individual should be respected – Sachin Tendulkar

The legendary batsman furtherly added the youngster should be given respect for whatever he does on the field for team India. Further, he also said he never believes in comparing any individual.

”But within that generation also I personally believe there should not be any comparison. Because every individual whatever he or she does need to be respected and judge by itself. It doesn’t have to be always judged by comparing someone and I don’t believe in that (comparisons),” Tendulkar noted.

However, as Sachin Tendulkar said, there should not be the comparisons in the game of cricket. Meanwhile, one should cherish the efforts made by a certain individual for team India.
