The legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar has rued the usage of two new balls in the One Day International format.

Tendulkar believes playing with two new balls is a recipe of disaster. Thus, the Master Blaster believes playing with two fresh balls steal the chance from the bowlers.

As the balls don’t get old in the 50-overs, it takes away the option of reverse swing for the fast bowler. We had seen that after 25-30 overs, the white-ball used to reverse swing when the earlier rules were in place.

Furthermore, a hardball goes a long way as compared to a soft old ball. However, as rules got altered, it has given an undue advantage to the modern-day batters.

The game is getting tilted in favour of the batsmen.

The game is already skewed in favour of the batsmen, and the poor bowlers don’t have many options up their sleeve. Thus, it makes all the sense to play with the old rules.

Meanwhile, we saw a truckload of runs been scored by the potent England side against the depleted Australian bowlers. The hosts were able to post a huge total of 481-6 in their allotted 50-overs. In fact, at one stage, England batsmen were on their way to score 500.

Australian bowlers were taken apart by the English batsmen, and the game had become predictable.

Thus, the morale of the Aussie bowlers also touched a new low. In fact, the likes of Alex Hales, Jason Roy, and Jonny Bairstow were toying with the tourists bowling line-up.

Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to raise his game about the game. Tendulkar post read as,

“Having 2 new balls in one day cricket is a perfect recipe for disaster as each ball is not given the time to get old enough to reverse. We haven’t seen reverse swing, an integral part of the death overs, for a long time. #ENGvsAUS”.
