In a heartwarming gesture, Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh have decided to auction one of their treasured asset to help the Bushfire victims in Australia. The legendary India batsmen have each signed a stump from the 2011 ICC World Cup quarter-final against Australia for the auction.

The stumps will be auctioned off to the highest bidder as part of the Big Appeal double-header at St Kilda’s Junction Oval on Sunday. The Bushfire Appeal match is a 10-overs-per-side contest that will follow the Australia-England women’s T20I tri-series clash.

Legendary cricketers Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist will lead the two star-studded sides. Apart from a number of legendary cricketers from Australia, a number of international legends including Yuvraj Singh will be featuring in the game.

On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar will coach the Ponting-led side. However, he will bat for one over during the break in the game after being challenged by Australia women team’s star Ellyse Perry. The much-awaited charity match is set to raise much-needed funds for victims of the numerous bushfires that have devastated Australia across the summer.

Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh will be hoping that the stumps from the memorable game fetches a good amount. India had famously defeated Australia in that game to stop the latter from winning their fourth World Cup in a row and had gone on to win the trophy.

Both Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar had played a vital role in the match. After Ricky Ponting’s century helped Australia post a challenging 260 for 6, Sachin scored 53 while Yuvraj scored an unbeaten 57 to take India over the line. Yuvraj had also picked up a couple of wickets and was the Man of the Match. Meanwhile, before Tendulkar and Yuvraj, Australian legend Shane Warne had raised one million dollars by auctioning his Baggy Green cap.
