Virender Sehwag lauds Heinrich Klaasen's match-winning knock

South Africa banked on Heinrich Klaasen and skipper JP Duminy to chase down India’s target of 189 runs. Meanwhile, South Africa crawled back to level the series with the final game to be played on Saturday at Cape Town.

Batting first, India posted 188 runs on the scoreboard after a shaky start. Manish Pandey (79*) and MS Dhoni (52*) helped India go closer to the 200-run mark. The duo added 98 runs for the fifth wicket as South African bowlers found it tough to break the partnership. Dhoni was back to the finisher role scoring quick runs at the back while Pandey played a classical knock.

targeted Yuzvendra Chahal, who had a rare off day in this tour. Duminy played the waiting game scoring 64 runs from 40 balls while Klaasen took the attack to the opposition. Klaasen departed scoring 69 runs off just 30 deliveries including seven mammoth sixes.

Further, Farhaan Behardien finished the game off scoring 16 runs off 10 balls with six wickets in hand.

Sehwag lauds Klaasen:

Former India international Virender Sehwag was in full praise of Klaasen’s knock. Sehwag took to Twitter to applaud the young wicket-keeper batsman, who made his debut in the ongoing series. Further, the swashbuckling opener from India added that Klaasen took the class of Indian bowlers today.

Klaasen, who replaced Quinton de Kock in the ODI series made a remarkable mark in this short span. Meanwhile, de Kock was ruled out with an injury midway through the ODI series. The Pretoria born Klaasen made full use of the opportunity chipping in with useful contributions.

Klaasen was a class apart yesterday hammering the Indian bowlers all over the park. Especially, he targeted Yuzvendra Chahal, who went for 64 runs in his four overs. Further, Klaasen’s knock included three boundaries and four massive sixes.
