Aussie legend Shane Warne led the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008. The quality leg-spinner is now the team mentor and brand ambassador for the same side and seems to be relishing his role.

The Royals have made a dazzling start to their IPL campaign by winning both of their first two games. While players like Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, and Rahul Tewatia have been the players to watch out for, Shane Warne has his eyes on a few youngsters in the team.

Riyan-Parag

Speaking exclusively to PTI, the 51-year-old named three players he will be watching with a lot of interest. While he named 18-year-old Riyan Parag to begin with, Shreyas Gopal and Yashasvi Jaiswal were the two others in his list.

“I am really looking forward to Riyan Parag, he”s fantastic and I am really looking forward to watching him play.”

“I know Gopal”s not super young but he is young in experience at the top level so I think he”s going to go on to be the spinner of the tournament this year. He was fantastic last year and I think he”ll be great this year.”

“And the young boy, eighteen-year old left-hand opener, (Yashasvi) Jaiswal and what a story it is. They”re the three standouts I think.”

The Rajasthan Royals will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
