IND vs AFG 2018: Twitter Erupts as Shikhar Dhawan Smashes Record-Breaking Ton

Swashbuckling India opener, Shikhar Dhawan hammered his way to yet another Test century, as he became the first Indian to register a hundred before the lunch on Day one against debutant Afghanistan in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Indian openers capitalised on Ajinkya Rahane???s decision to bat first after winning the toss. Moreover, Dinesh Karthik made his way back to the Test side after eight years. Interestingly, the Indian team management decided to use KL Rahul, otherwise an opener, in the middle-order.

While Murali Vijay played the second hand, Dhawan went bonkers at the rookies in this format. The southpaw continued his form from the Indian Premier League, as he hammered the balls out of the park. Dhawan was in his mood, as the southpaw didn???t spare a single bowler. So much so, he took Rashid Khan for 51 runs in the seven overs so far.

Dhawan played some glorious drives and cuts, as the Afghan skipper Asghar Stanikzai looked clueless. The bowlers also failed to make any inroads against some top-class batting.

???Gabbar???, as he is profoundly known smashed his way to his seventh Test hundred in just 87 balls hitting Rashid for a four piercing the gap between the extra-cover and mid-off. Meanwhile, India went to lunch at 158 for the loss of no wickets.
