It was the day of young Indian fast bowling talents- Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti– as the duo flexed their muscles to the hilt to knock over the Rajasthan Royals top-order and set the ball rolling for a dominant 37-run win for the Kolkata Knight Riders [KKR].
Eventually, Shivam Mavi was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant spell during the powerplay that saw him dismiss both Sanju Samson and Jos Butter to peg Rajasthan back in their run-chase of 176.
When asked about whether he was overawed with the fact that he was bowling to world-class players, the talented fast-bowler responded in the negative, stating that he has enough experience of playing against them.
”When I started, the ball was seaming around. So I kept to normal lines and lengths. It was a little different after seeing the wicket, thought it would be flat. But it was seaming around so I kept it tight. I’ve played against some of these big players before so I knew what they would do, so I made sure I just stuck to the lines and lengths,” Shivam Mavi said.

Apart from Shivam Mavi [2-20], Kamlesh Nagarkoti displayed why he is so highly rated in the Indian cricketing circles as he showed his talent to the hit with both bowl as well as in the field. While he claimed two wickets in the form of Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag in his first over, he enthralled one and all with his brilliance in the field with two catches.
RR eventually fell short by 37 runs to propel KKR to the second spot in the points table
