England captain Joe Root was left in hysterics by his teammate Ben Stokes after the latter appeared to have an accident causing a stain to appear on his pants on day two of the ongoing Test against West Indies.

Ben Stokes was standing in the slip cordon with Root before the latter started laughing after seeing the brown stains on his teammate’s pants. The allrounder tried to hide the stain at first but soon realised it was in vain. He was then seen sporting a sheepish smile as he tried his best to avoid the embarrassment.

Ben Stokes was not even spared on the social media as the TV cameras captured the hilarious moment. Former England footballer Gary Linekar was quick to respond to the incident as he hilariously tweeted ‘s*** happens’, referring to his  own infamous unfortunate incident on the pitch during the 1990 World Cup.

Linekar, who was mocked for years for the accident, was seen taking longer than usual to get up after a challenge during the clash against Ireland. He then shuffled himself along the floor in an effort to clear up the disaster he had accidentally left. No surprises, he was amused to see another sportsperson suffering the same fate on the cricket field.

Here is a clip of the incident showing Joe Root struggling to contain his laugh:

Meanwhile, England have taken the upper hand in the ongoing series-decider.  Stuart Broad and James Anderson impressed with the ball, picking up two wickets each as West Indies finished the day on 137 for 6 in reply to England’s first innings total of 369.

Earlier in the day, West Indies started on a stunning note with the ball, taking four wickets for 18 runs, including Ollie Pope without adding to his overnight 91 and Jos Buttler for 67. However, Broad starred with the bat and slammed 65 off just 45 balls to propel England to a good total.
