The Proteas recently poor outing against India during their last month tour. They drew the three-match T20I series and lost the two Tests which followed. They have struggled to find the replacement of AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla or someone like Dale Steyn, who retired from Test cricket.

To top everything, there is a dispute going on between Cricket South Africa and the South African Cricketers Association (SACA). As a result of which CSA has suspended interim director of cricket Corrie van Zyl, chief operating officer Naasei Appiah and commercial manager Clive Eksteen.

Mark Boucher feels South African cricket is going through a pretty bad state. He also said that sugarcoating things wth the success MSL will not help the game in the country.

“I think there are bigger issues that need to be dealt with, to be honest. There might be quite a few people looking at this and saying we’re sugarcoating the actual situation were are in with South African cricket at the moment. We’ve got ourselves into a pretty bad state,” Boucher said to Sports24.

Mark Boucher also added that the turmoil needs to end soon. One of the best wicket-keepers of his generation, Boucher revealed that it feels bad to read when people are talking about the current state of South African cricket. After a poor World Cup campaign and a humiliating drubbing against India, the Proteas have found themselves in dire pressure.

“And they need to be sorted out very soon, for the good of cricket, our country and for the good of world cricket. There are guys around the world talking about the state we’re in, it’s not good. It’s sad to read, watch and listen about our cricket. There’s a lot of negativity,” he concluded.
