The poor run of form continues for Hashim Amla in the International Cricket. The classy right-handed batsman yet again tasted failure in the home game against Pakistan. Ahead of the match, he was the centre figure in debates for the analysts and the latest failure added weight on his role for South Africa.
Amla scored only three centuries in the last two years, with his previous one coming more than a year back, Hashim Amla’s form has been a matter of big concern for South Africa. In 2018, barring four half-centuries, Amla hasn’t had a productive outing with the bat – averaging just 24.38.

Hashim Amla, who was asked to bat in the middle-order during Sri Lanka series walked at his regular number 3 position in the first Test against Pakistan. However, it hasn’t changed his fortunes, as he scored just 8 runs to his name.
Game Equally Poised:
Coming to the match, it is evenly balanced with both the sides having their tails up. Both the teams bagged the quality number of sessions in their kitty to make things interesting.

Both teams got the players standing at crunch situations of the game. Babar Azam for Pakistan and Bavuma for South Africa scored fine fifties to the name. In bowling, Mohammad Amir is back to form for the visitors while Ollivier was exceptional for Proteas.
Here are the Twitter reactions:
Hashim Amla must retire. He's now a liability to the Proteas batting. Past his sell by date. #SSCricket #SAvPAK

#SAvPAK To be honest, Hashim Amla's glory days are well behind him. Great batsman overall but at the moment he is in poor form and his cricket is going south

Hashim Amla has gone 20 innings without a hundred in Tests. The second-longest century drought of his career after 23 inns between between 2006 and 2007. #RSAvPak
