S Sreesanth picked up a fascinating India playing XI for the 2020 T20 World Cup. The fate of the marquee tournament still hangs in the balance with the global governing council likely to decide its future in July. Cricket Australia has already described its inability to host the showpiece event this year amid the novel coronavirus pandemic as it looks likely that the tournament will be postponed to early next year.

Even if Sreesanth’s chances to return in the Team India setup looks nearly impossible, he picked up himself as the 12th man of the 2020 T20 World Cup side. He was one of the key member in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup triumph, who took Younis Khan’s catch, and made sure the trophy does not slips out of his team’s hand.

Sreesanth has shared the national team dressing room with some of the finest Indian cricketers in the shortest format, including Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Sreesanth believes the duo should be given a chance in the T20 World Cup and hence picked them up in his playing XI.

The side otherwise saw regulars Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan as an opener with Sreesanth picking up Sanju Samson as an option to open for the side. Virat Kohli steps in at No.3 while Sreesanth wants MS Dhoni to step in at 4 with Suresh Raina stepping in at 5.
