Former chief selector Kris Srikkanth has put his weight behind SunRisers Hyderabd (SRH) by saying that they look like the most dangerous side at the moment. SRH overcame all the odds to make their way to the IPL 2020 playoffs. The lost the services of their premier players Mitchell Marsh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar but that did not dent their campaign.

David Warner led his troops well with India wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha given the freedom at the top of the order. Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey add mettle to the top-order while T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have been important from the bowling point of view.

SRH have proved beyond doubt what an aggressive mindset can bring about: Kris Srikkanth

Srikkanth said that SRH have proved beyond doubt what aggressive approach can look like while they were staring down the barrels. He also mentioned that despite losing a player like Bhuvneshwar Kumar they have done quite well to reach to the top four. The former India cricketer believes SRH are looking like a tough side at the moment.

“Hyderabad have proved beyond doubt what an aggressive mindset can bring about. Staring at the wrong end of the barrel, they picked up their game at the right moment to register three thumping wins and by some distance look the most dangerous side at the moment.

Remember, they made the cut despite losing key players to injuries during the campaign, none bigger than missing the services of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. To make the top-four without a senior Indian bowler is a commendable achievement indeed,” Kris Srikkanth wrote in his column for The Times of India.

SRH will face RCB in the eliminator. The winner of the contest will take on Delhi Capitals to find a place in the IPL 2020 final.
