SRH vs RCB: Watch - Kane Williamson Given Run Out In A Controversial Decision On First Ball Of SRH Innings

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their captain Kane Williamson to a controversial run-out decision on the first ball of their chase of the 193-run target set by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 54th match of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bat first. RCB went in unchanged with their playing XI, while SRH gave a debut to Afghanistani left-arm fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqui.

SRH got a dream start when Virat Kohli was dismissed by J Suchith on the very first ball of the match. But then captain Faf du Plessis (73* with 8 fours and 2 sixes) and Rajat Patidar (48 with 4 fours and 2 sixes) got RCB to a very good position.

RCB Get Off To A Brilliant Start As Shahbaz Ahmed Runs Out Kane Williamson First Ball

Abhishek Sharma and SRH captain Kane Williamson opened the innings and Faf du Plessis employed Glenn Maxwell for the first over. Maxwell bowled a length ball on the offside and Abhishek punched it towards covers and went for a quick single.

Williamson responded, but Shahbaz Ahmed picked the ball and threw down the stumps at the batting end, with replays showing Williamson barely reaching the crease in time. Multiple replays for the third umpire showed that the SRH captain’s bat had not crossed the crease into safety and was on the white line hence he was given out for a diamond duck.
