It was a pretty ordinary first session at Galle against Sri Lanka for English batsmen. They failed to tackle the brilliance of Lakmal with the new ball and then the spell from Dilruwan Perera further pushed them on backfoot. Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan came up with a series of tweets during the match.
England was down to 103/5 with their top-order walking back to the hut for cheap scores. Meanwhile, the newbie on the cricket block Ben Foakes played out of his skin to showcase a great resilience on the Galle wicket.
Test match batting has resumed in 2nd innings ??? Michael Vaughan
Perhaps, Vaughan isn???t impressed with the way Englishmen tackled the Islanders. He felt the batsmen are still in the limited overs format mood and thus they are going with their shots despite losing the wickets on a regular basis.

However, the heroic act by Ben Foakes helped England to bring the things back in control. During the course, Michael Vaughan came up with a controversial tweet saying Surrey Cricket is showing England cricket the way to play the game.
His tweet during the first session read ???This approach by England is like going to Barca in the champions league with no centre-halves.??? Followed by ???Hate to say it but Surrey is showing England the way to play Test cricket.???
In his last tweet, he added ???Loved the 2 nd Session ??? Test Match Batting has resumed ??? England now have a couple of centre halves at the Nou camp.???

As it happened:
Initially, England won the toss and asked the visitors to roll their arms. The decision turned out to be unfruitful, as Lakmal delivered the goods to bag two quick wickets with the new ball.
Though Root and Jennings tried to save the game, it was Herath, who gave the breakthrough for Sri Lanka. The wicket of Root was followed by Jennings, Stokes, and Buttler to further dent England.
However, England is currently batting on 268-7 with debutant Ben Foakes batting unbeaten on 73 runs.
