The flamboyant opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal kept the cricketing fanatics talk about him for his incredible show with the bat for the Indian U19 Cricket Team. Hailing from a poor family, Jaiswal worked his ways to make things fall in place. Now, he is eyeing to learn from Ben Stokes, Steve Smith and Jos Buttler in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Jaiswal’s scores in the U19 tournament were 59 (versus Sri Lanka), 29 not out (versus Japan), 57 not out (versus New Zealand), 62 (versus Australia), 105 not out (versus Pakistan) and 88 (versus Bangladesh).

India, however, lost the final to Bangladesh by three wickets.

Speaking to India Today in an exclusive interview, Jaiswal said he is excited to learn from international players when he joins the camp of Rajasthan Royals  (RR) for the upcoming season. He is hopeful of delivering required goods for his franchise to win the trophy once again.

“For me, it is a very good opportunity to play in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals because I can go and talk with the World’s best players like Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler. I am really excited to learn from them. It will be exciting for me as it is my first IPL and I will try my best to do whatever I can,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said.

Further, Jaiswal added that selling Panipuris helped him to develop a strong mindset. He stated that selling Panipuris was a requirement for him to do living and he wasn’t ashamed of it.

Jaiswal believes his hard work helped him to make things happen.

“When I was in 10th and was selling panipuris, I did not think bout anything because that time that was required for me. And I was really enjoying that. I knew that it was fine to do that. I will not get anything easy. Every time I need to work hard for it then I will get it. So it helps me in getting a strong mindset,” he added.

All in all, it was quite a story to etch in cricket books.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how he counters the pressure of IPL, where the player will be under the pump throughout the tournament.
