English speedster Stuart Broad who is recuperating from an ankle injury will undergo a scan soon. The injury has kept him out of the major part of the county championship game for Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire.

Lanky paceman Broad bowled eight overs in the second innings of Worcestershire’s batting. He was unable to take the field for the final two sessions of the game.

The full details of the injury are yet to revealed to the English media. However head coach of Nottinghamshire, Peter Moores feels that the injury is under manageable proportions.

“Stuart’s sore ankle has been ongoing and it was stirred up a little bit when he landed in the footholds, so it made sense for him to come off the field when it was too sore for him to bowl,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s website.

“It is manageable, but he has a lot of cricket to play in the rest of the summer. He will have a scan on it this morning. It was disappointing for him because he was desperate to get out there and was prowling around the dressing room, but injuries are injuries and you have to take heed of them,” he added.

The England Cricket Board’s (ECB) Management will keep a close look on Stuart Broad along with Test skipper Joe Root.

England already has James Anderson on the sidelines due to an injury. The premier fast bowling duo is expected to be fit for England’s next big assignment. They will be hosting India in a five-match Test series which begins from August 1.

Both of them will be spearheading the attack and their experience will be vital for England to come out on top in the series.

India is the No. 1 Test side in the world and their performance has been quite superb off late. Hence, England will be quite wary of the fact that the Indians will come out all guns blazing.

Despite their below-par performances in the last couple of tours. They have a very good team this time around and will surely pose a stiff challenge to the English team.
