India cricket star Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka have become parents for the second time. They had become parents for the first in 2016 when they were blessed with their daughter Gracia Raina. The news is bound to bring some smile on the Raina couple and the fans at a time when the entire world is struggling to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

As soon as the news of Suresh Raina and his wife becoming parents surfaced, the fans poured in their congratulatory wishes for them. The news of Suresh Raina being blessed with a baby boy was shared by the cricket historian Boria Majumdar on his official Twitter handle. He also confirmed that the baby and Priyanka both are safe and healthy.

“Many congrats @ImRaina on being father. Glad mum and baby are safe and healthy. Stay safe and stay blessed,” wrote Majumdar.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina’s international career is pretty much off the track now. In the last few three years, the southpaw has got just a handful of chances. He last played for India during the tour of England in 2018. Suresh Raina was making a comeback to international cricket through that tour only but was dropped straightaway after India returned from England.

Since then, he has not been tried even once although India were desperately waiting for a reliable batsmen in the middle-order for last year’s World Cup. It won’t be very surprising if Suresh Raina does not earn another recall anytime soon. He is well out of the picture now as the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Kedar Jadhav form India’s middle-order now.

Ahead of this year’s T20 World Cup, the IPL would have helped him present a case for himself but unfortunately, the tournament has been postponed at least till April 15. As things stand, there is little clarity over when will things improve and when will the thirteenth edition of the tournament starts.
