Chennai Super Kings (CSK) marked their arrival in a remarkable way, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) owing to a captivating manner. Despite returning to the league after serving a two-year ban, the Super Kings looked almost unbeatable, this season.

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side started the season with a win over defending champions Mumbai Indians and ended it in even a better manner. The Super Kings thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the title-decider by eight wickets – to cap off their comeback season in a dream style.

It was just a perfect finale for the Super Kings as they thoroughly dominated the contest.

From the toss till Ambati Rayudu’s winning four, almost everything went Super Kings’ way as they decimated the Sunrisers at the iconic Wankhede Stadium

The chief architect of the win was none other than their opening batsman Shane Watson.

The hard-hitting and experienced allrounder Watson scored an unbeaten ton to help the Super Kings chase down 179 with utmost ease. It was a sublime knock as the veteran showed his vast wealth of experience to ace the chase.

The hard-hitting batsman started his innings in an unusual manner. It took him an incredible 11 balls to open his account. However, it was just the calm before the storm. He completed his fifty off 32 balls and then reached his ton off just 51 balls.

In the end, he remained unbeaten on 117. His knock came off just 57 balls and was studded with 11 fours and eight sixes as Super Kings reached home in the 19th over.

Throughout the tournament, the Super Kings looked like a closely-knit unit. And it reflected in their distinct performances on the field.
