Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018: Fit-Again Shreyas Iyer To Turn Up For Mumbai

Mumbai have been bolstered with the comeback of Shreyas Iyer for the Super League of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018. Iyer missed the Zonal League due to a hamstring injury. He was in MCA with few other players to be fit for the upcoming tour of South Africa.
The Super League of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will give Iyer some match practice ahead of the international fixtures.
Along with him, Shardul Thakur will also get practice before he flies to South Africa with other ODI specialists. However, both Iyer and Shardul might not play full Super League as the ODI series between India and South Africa starts on February 1 and India ODI players are expected to join remaining players at least a week ahead of the series. Mumbai will have to announce a replacement of this two mid-way the tournament.
Aditya Tare has been retained as the captain with Dhawal Kulkarni as his deputy. Mumbai qualified for the Super League by having better NRR than Saurashtra, who won two games. In fact, at one stage, it looked like Mumbai were out of the tournament but they somehow managed to get in.
The success of the team will depend on Tare, Kulkarni, Iyer, Thakur, Siddhesh Lad and Surya Kumar Yadav.
The Super League of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018 will start on January 21 and will be played in Calcutta.
Apart from Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab, Baroda, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka who have qualified for the Super League competition.
