Stardom. It’s a double-edged sword. If you don’t have the necessary temperament and attitude to handle it, it can forever tarnish your image beyond repair. And, especially in the time of social media where nothing can be hidden.
And, in the past few years, we have seen a lot of cricketers learn that the hard way when their personal chats got leaked and spread like wildfire.
Here’s a look at three Cricketers who landed themselves in trouble after their online chats got leaked:

3. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami recently revealed in an Instagram live session with Rohit Sharma how he had attempted suicide three times during the rough time that he endured during 2017 and 2018.
It had all come crashing down on the Bengal fast bowler when his wife Hasin Jahan racked up headlines when she accused Shami of having multiple extra-marital affairs. In order to prove her allegations, Jahan also released several screenshots of Shami’s alleged conversations with other women.
Jahan did not stop here. She went on to accuse Shami of domestic violence, rape, attempted murder, adultery, and also of match-fixing.
The sensational allegations tarnished Shami’s image to the hilt and the BCCI soon withheld his annual contract. Later, the Anti-Corruption Unit of the BCCI cleared Shami of the match-fixing allegations.
Post the fiasco, Shami has gone to channelize his inner beast and has proceeded to spearhead India’s bowling unit alongside Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

2. Imam Ul Haq

The year 2019 proved to be a nightmare for Pakistan opener Imam Ul Haq both on and off the field.
After having endured a forgettable 2019 World Cup, Imam landed himself in a coup when multiple girls took to Instagram and Twitter to leak screenshots of their conversation with the left-hander, accusing him of using his stardom to exploit them.
The girls accused Imam of having a relationship with them at the same time.
Eventually a week later, Imam came forward and apologized for his misdemeanor. He was let off by the Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] after a stern warning.
So apparently Mr. @ImamUlHaq12 was dating 7 to 8 (that we know of) women and kept using them and manipulating them. He kept telling them the whole time how he’s single. Some of the screenshots attached from girl 1: pic.twitter.com/UzIl98ryAw

1. Alex Hepburn

Alex Hepburn, an Australian born cricketer, had moved to England at the age of 17 to pursue his dream of one day becoming an elite International cricketer. He had even landed a contract for himself with Worcestershire but in November 2017, his world turned upside down when he was charged with two counts of rape.
When the trial took place last year, Hepburn was acquitted from one of those charges. He was, however, convicted of committing rape on one girl, at the time when she was dozing in his flat with his then-teammate Joe Clarke.
The girl revealed to the jury that she thought she was having sex with Joe Clarke following their meeting at a nightclub. She then realized that she had been raped by Hepburn after he spoke in an Aussie accent.
Amidst all this, Hepburn was dealt with another body blow when some of the online chats where he was bragging about the number of women he’d slept with, were leaked.
Hepburn also admitted to having taken part in a sex game which led to him having sexual activities with 20 women. He also admitted to being a part of a Whatsapp group where women were rated by men.
Hepburn was sentenced to five years of imprisonment and was also placed in the sex offenders register for life
