2020 was supposed to be a year for the T20 World Cup but as it stands the marquee tournament might be postponed to next year. Former Australia cricketer turned commentator Tom Moody, who has also donned the coaching hat in IPL, picked up his current T20 XI.
The team looked like a formidable unit with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah making a cut in the side and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja named as the 12th man. Moody also picked up Rohit Sharma as the captain of his side ahead of Virat Kohli.
Rohit has not captained the national team in T20Is as much but holds a good record in the IPL. He is, in fact, the most successful captain in the lucrative tournament. Besides that Rohit is also second in the list of most runs in T20Is behind Kohli.
Along side Rohit, Warner was named as the opener for the side with Kohli stepping in as one down batsman. AB de Villiers then add mettle to the side with hard-hitting batsmen Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell then following the suit.
Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan will handle the spin department with Mitchell Starc, Bumrah and Jofra Archer named as the three fast bowlers in the side.
Here is Tom Moody’s current T20 XI: David Warner, Rohit Sharma(Captain), Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russel, Sunil Narine, Mitchell Starc, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer, Ravindra Jadeja (12th man).
