Jasprit Bumrah is working really hard in the nets to find his rhythm back, New Zealand fast bowler, and Bumrah’s Mumbai Indians teammate Trent Boult has revealed on the eve of the defending champions second game of the Dream11 IPL 2020 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mumbai Indians went down in their opening game of the 2020 IPL against Chennai Super Kings after they failed to defend their total of 163. One of the major reasons behind MI’s struggles with the ball was their fast bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah having an off day. Bumrah conceded 43 runs in four overs for a solitary wicket.

“He (Bumrah) is a world-class bowler, he is trying very hard over the last couple of days to find rhythm. I am 100 percent sure he will be on the mark in the coming games. He is a big player for us and a very important bowler and I am sure he will bounce back very nicely,” Trent Boult was quoted as saying by PTI.

Trent Boult returned with figures of 1-23 in the first game and the left-hander was pretty satisfied with the way that things panned out for him, given the fact that he was coming off an extended break.

“I think from my point of view personally, coming off from a big winter in New Zealand with lockdowns and isolations, I haven’t played cricket in probably six months, so I was pretty happy with the way I came out. Conditions are a lot different to what I face back home, with the heat and humidity here.”

Boult also talked about the opportunity of bowling alongside an experienced bowler like Bumrah besides adding that he is hoping to forge a successful partnership with him this season.

“Yes, the opportunity to bowl with Bumrah and the other guys in the bowling attack is very exciting and a good opportunity to learn. And yes Bumrah is a guy, who is very experienced and he has got some amazing skills and I’m really looking forward to hopefully having some success with him,” he said.

He, however, pointed out where the team needed to tighten up on a couple of fronts in order to ensure they successfully defend the total in upcoming games.

“But we were a couple of (few) runs short in terms of our total to defend. We need to tighten up a couple of small areas with accuracy and execution and that’s what we will look to do in the next couple of games,” he added.
