Twitter Hails Shimron Hetmyer For Another Impressive Knock

Continuing his red-hot form, Shimron Hetmyer impressed again on Wednesday, scoring a stroke-filled 94 against India in the second One-Day International.
A couple of days after scoring 106 off just 78 balls, Shimron Hetmyer took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners once again. The 20-year old looked in top form right from the time he came out to bat with his team in deep trouble while chasing an imposing 322.
Chasing the imposing total, the Windies were off to a shaky start. Kieran Powell, who had scored a fifty in the first game, was out for just 18. Chandrapaul Hemraj and Marlon Samuels also failed to score big as Windies found themselves three down for just 78. However, the game turned on its head once Hetmyer came out to bat.

He launched a stunning counterattack to help Windies claw their way back in the game. He reached his fifty off just 43 balls and continued to torment the Indian bowlers. But unfortunately, his stunning knock came to a disappointing end as he was dismissed for 94. The knock came off just 64 balls and contained 4 fours and 7 sixes. He added 141 runs with Shai Hope to put Windies’ chase well on track.
But despite Hetmyer missing his ton, Twitter lavished praise on him for his entertaining knock:
Fantastic from young Shimron Hetmyer. What a talent he is for West Indies. Can he get consecutive 100s here? Match on then.

Chahal gets rampaging Hetmyer. What a knock by the youngster! Kohli will breathe easy, but only a bit as his bowlers have bled runs profusely and West Indies have wickets in hand. Challenging situation for Shami, Umesh the spinners and the captain of course

Missed the 2nd quickest 100 by a West Indian in ODIs (Lara 100 in 45 balls!)#IndvWI— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) October 24, 2018
Shimron Hetmyer has already shown stunning six-hitting prowess. The IPL auction isn’t that far away…

Hetmyer just hit himself to an IPL contract! He was the captain of the West Indies team that beat India in the final of the 2016 U-19 World Cup. Incidentally, Rishab Pant also played that final.

For a young 21yr old, Hetmyer has impressed in the first two ODIs. A ? & 94 in India conditions shows that he has the ability to take @windiescricket back to the power house we all know and love!!
