Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took a dig at the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government for the decision to enforce night curfew in the wake of the surge in Covid cases.
The Delhi government, on Tuesday, announced that the national capital will start with a night curfew from 10:00 PM to 3:00 PM with immediate effect till April 30.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that Delhi is experiencing the 4th wave of Covid-19 but a complete lockdown is not being considered yet.
Delhi recorded a total of 3548 Covid-19 cases on Monday along with 15 deaths.
“As per the current situation, we are not considering imposing a lockdown. We are closely monitoring the situation and such a decision will only be taken after due public consultation,” Arvind Kejriwal told reporters.
During the night curfew, vehicle movement will not be restricted and those going for vaccination will be allowed with an e-pass.
Front line workers like doctors, nurses, and other medical officials will be allowed movements with ID card. Exceptions will be made for pregnant women or those traveling for treatment.
Delhi has now joined the likes of Maharashtra and Rajasthan to announce night curfew following a surge in cases all over the country.
Veteran sports journalist Vikrant Gupta shared the news of night curfew on his official Twitter handle.
Reacting to it, Harbhajan Singh wrote-
“Yeah carona comes out only in the night.. not during the day so good decision 😱 🙄🙄”
