Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer and Mumbai Indians all-rounder James Neesham came up with their reactions after the Delhi Capitals-SunRisers Hyderabad game led to the first tied affair in IPL 2021.
Chasing a target of 160 on yet another slow Chepauk track, SunRisers Hyderabad lost their skipper David Warner cheaply but the onslaught of Jonny Bairstow in the powerplay and calm of Kane Williamson in the middle overs meant that SunRisers Hyderabad were in the game despite yet another poor show by their Indian middle-order batsmen.
Delhi Capitals, however, looked in complete control of proceedings when they dismissed Vijay Shankar in the penultimate over.
But Jagadeesh Suchith stroked a couple of fours off Avesh Khan before he smoked a six off Kagiso Rabada in the final over to reduce the equation to 3 off 3 balls.
The duo scampered for three singles to take the game to the Super-Over where SunRisers Hyderabad made a blunder by not sending Jonny Bairstow with Kane Williamson.
Axar Patel gave away just 7 runs in the Super-Over. The Capitals sent Rishabh Pant alongside Shikhar Dhawan and the move paid off as the DC skipper reverse swept Rashid for a crucial boundary and eventually ended up winning the game for his team.
After the game ended in a tie, Jofra Archer and James Neesham, who were involved in possibly the most exciting Super-Over in the history of the game during the 2019 World Cup final, took to Twitter where they wrote-
”Hey let’s super go to bed and pretend like this isn’t a thing”- wrote James Neesham.
