West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first. Star West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, who missed the first game, made a comeback to the team and he replaced Fabian Allen in the playing XI. India, on the other hand, made no changes in the team and they fielded the same playing XI.
Captain Rohit Sharma opened the innings with young Ishan Kishan and they managed to score 10 runs in the first over bowled by Akeal Hosein. Sheldon Cottrell delivered a great second over as he dismissed opener Ishan Kishan and bowled a maiden over. In the third over Akeal Hosein conceded 2 fours. Indian batters managed to score 5,11 and 15 runs in the next few overs and at the end of the powerplay, they were at 49/1.
In the 5th ball of the 8th over, spinner Roston Chase dismissed Rohit Sharma and Brandon King, who dropped Rohit on 2 grabbed the catch. Rohit Sharma was able to score 19 runs off 18 balls including 2 fours and 1 six.
Middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav who helped India win the first T20I was not able to play a big knock in the second T20I and he was dismissed in the 10th over by Roston Chase.
Virat Kohli, who batted brilliantly and scored 52 runs off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six, became the third wicket of spinner Roston Chase.
In the end, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer played excellent innings and helped the Indian team post 186 runs on the board. Pant scored amazing 52 runs off 28 balls including 7 fours and one six and Venkatesh Iyer scored 33 runs off just 18 balls including 4 fours and 1 six.
Chasing the target West Indies openers Kyle Mayers and Brandon King were off to a decent start and they added 34 runs before the former was dismissed by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the 1st ball of the 6th over.
Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi picked a wicket in his first over itself. He dismissed opener Brandon King who scored just 22 runs off 30 balls.
In the end, Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran added sensational 100 runs together but it was not enough to win the match.

Like in batting when experienced hands were supported by young players, same happened with bowling. Well done Team India and especially Bhuvi , Harshal and of course Bishnoi who was terrific once again. #INDvWI #CricketTwitter

One more series win by team India. Nicely led by Rohit. Bowling with wet ball and defending total was most satisfying for me. #INDvWI

Excellent bowling by India in last 4-5 overs to stave off threat from Pooan, Powell and other big hitters in the dug out. Important too as it came fielding second, not easy given the dew factor, despite a big score to defend. #Rohit off to terrific streak as captain??
