IPL 2022 Auction: Twitter Reacts As Rajasthan Royals Buy Ravichandran Ashwin, Set To Play Alongside Jos Buttler
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged a contract for INR 5 cr with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Ashwin was the second player in the pool after Shikhar Dhawan was sold to Punjab Kings.
Delhi Capitals and RR were involved in a fierce bid for the 34-year-old before Delhi backed out. Ashwin will now have a new franchise in the IPL 2022 season.
With that, he is set to join England wicket-keeper batter, Jos Buttler in the RR camp. The two were involved in a fiery incident of ‘Mankading’ when Ashwin knocked the bails out at the bowling end.
Spirit of cricket debate ensued with two factions of fans being created by the incident. While some ended up defending Ashwin claiming that it was within the rules, several others questioned why he didn’t give a warning before doing so.
The two will now join hands playing for the same team, much to the amusement of Twitterati. As expected, they engaged in a meme galore, excited to see how the duo will end up faring in the same team.
