IND vs SL: Twitter Reacts As Star Pacer Jasprit Bumrah Bags His 1st Test Five-wicket Haul In India

Indian National Cricket Team premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah bagged his first five-wicket haul in India in the pink-ball Test match against Dimuth Karunaratne-led Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, March 13.

Jasprit Bumrah’s remarkable spell that came in spin-friendly bowling conditions helped the Indian team to bowl out Sri Lanka in their first innings at the score of just 109 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah, on Day 1 of the second Test match of the two-match Test series picked his first wicket in the 3rd over itself by dismissing opener Kusal Mendis. He then quickly cleaned up Lahiru Thirimanne in the 5th over and Sri Lanka were struggling at 14/2. Ahead of the end of the day, Bumrah was also able to pick a crucial wicket of the veteran batsman, Angelo Mathews, in the 29th over.

On Day 2, Bumrah once again shined and dismissed Lasith Embuldeniya in 33rd over and Niroshan Dickwella in the 35th over to pick his first five-wicket haul at home.

Overall, he bowled just 10 overs, including 4 maidens, and picked 5 wickets while giving away runs at an economy of 2.40. This five-wicket haul by Bumrah was in 5th different country as he has bagged two five-wicket hauls in England, two in South Africa, two in West Indies, one in Australia and now one in India.

Also, this was Bumrah’s 8th five-wicket haul in Test cricket, and no pacer since 2018 in Test cricket has bagged more five-wicket hauls than Bumrah. After his outstanding performance in the match, Bumrah reached the landmark of 300 international wickets.
