Promising Pakistani fast bowler, Usman Khan Shinwari, will soon make his way back into action post-injury. The left arm pacer suffered a setback while making giant strides in International cricket due an untimely injury last year (2017).

Pakistan management is hopeful that the talented fast bowler will be fit-in-time to take part in in the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament starts on February 22 at Dubai.

Shinwari last featured in the T20I series against Sri Lankan back in October in Abu Dhabi. It was during the series, Usman suffered a back injury.

Usman Khan Shinwari gained prominence during the ODI leg of the series against Sri Lanka. He picked up a 5-for within the first seven overs of the match in one of the games.

After recovering well from the injury, the left arm pacer informed bowling coach Azhar Mahmood about his availability in the upcoming league.

“I am glad to say that Shinwari has already started to bowl again based on what he has told me and the videos that he has sent to me already. Hopefully, he will be fit to play in the PSL which starts on February 22,” revealed Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood, who was quoted as saying by PakPassion.net.

It was diagnosed earlier that Usman potentially suffered from a career-halting back stress fracture. The injury led the Karachi Kings bowler to stay out of action during the recently concluded New Zealand tour.

According to the initial prognosis, the 23-year old suffered a fracture in the lumbar spine. This may have kept him out of action for at least six months. Along with Usman Khan, fellow speedster Junaid Khan has also been recovering from his injury and has started to bowl again.

“As far as Khan is concerned, he is pain-free now and has started to bowl again; hopefully his fitness will also improve very soon,” stated Mahmood.
