Former India opener Virender Sehwag continues to entertain fans with his unique and quirky analysis of the games in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. He has started a new show named ‘Viru ki Baithak’ where he gives his views on the matches in his own style.

In the recent episode of his show where he analysed the game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, Virender Sehwag once again raised some eyebrows with his choice of words. Known for making bold comments, the batting legend took a dig at Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma’s fitness.

Rohit Sharma had to miss the game due to fitness reasons and was replaced in the playing eleven by Saurabh Tiwary. His absence, however, didn’t hurt his team much as Mumbai Indians thrashed Chennai Super Kings to move to the top of the points table.

It was a lopsided contest as the defending champions thoroughly dominated the contest. Asked to bat first, CSK could manage only 114 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. At one stage, they were reeling at 3 for 4 and then 43 for 7. But thanks to Sam Curran’s fighting fifty, they managed to post a respectable total.

In reply, Mumbai Indians chased down the total inside 13 overs without losing any wicket as Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock shared an unbeaten 116-run stand. Kishan scored an unbeaten 68 off 37 balls while de Kock scored 46 off 37 balls.

Virender Sehwag’s dig at Rohit Sharma:

After the game ended, Virender Sehwag released the new episode of ‘Viru Ki Baithak’ where he spoke about the game. And during the same, he took a dig at Rohit’s fitness by referring to him as ‘vada pav’. The Mumbai Indians star has been trolled by the fans in recent times for looking overweight in the ongoing IPL.

Not only that Virender Sehwag also went on to refer his replacement Saurabh Tiwary as ‘samosa pav’.

“Rohit was not playing. But so what if vada pav was injured? His spot was taken by samosa pav. I mean Saurabh Tiwary. Understood why?” Virender Sehwag said in a light-hearted manner.
