RCB skipper Virat Kohli always loves to be in the thick of the action. Be it on the field or off it, Virat is massively involved in his team. On Sunday, as IPL 2021 witnessed its first double-header, RCB took on KKR in match 10 of the tournament. RCB won the toss and elected to bat first in Chennai.
They were hit with massive blows early in the innings as skipper Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar both departed in the second over of the innings. However, Glenn Maxwell, who has been the star performer this year for RCB, once again came to the rescue and steadied the RCB ship with a scintillating half-century.

Much to the dismay of the RCB dugout, opener Devdutt Padikkal couldn’t contribute with the bat as he walked back to the pavilion in the 12th over, scoring just 25 runs off 28 deliveries. As Padikkal walked back to the dugout, in came AB de Villiers and he ran the show with the bat in Chennai alongside Glenn Maxwell.
As Glenn Maxwell departed for a well-made 78 of just 49 deliveries, AB took the charge in his own hands and launched an attack on the KKR bowlers. Eventually, de Villiers smashed a scintillating half-century and carried RCB to a strong total of 204 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 50 overs, remaining not out on 76 runs.
As AB is famous for his unconventional shots, once again he came up with an astonishing shot in the 18th over off Andre Russell. On the fifth delivery of the 18th over, Russell bowled a full toss to de Villiers and the latter made a last moment adjustment and opened the face of the bat to glide the ball to the third man boundary. As de Villiers played the shot, even Virat Kohli couldn’t believe his eyes as he came up with an animated reaction.

RCB Cruise To A Giant Total
RCB had an illustrious batting showdown against KKR in Chennai in match 10 of IPL 2021. Although their star batsman, Virat Kohli couldn’t deliver the goods with the bat, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell ran riots with the bat to help RCB become the first team in IPL 2021 to post a score of more than 200 runs in Chepauk.
If RCB manage to defend the total, they will remain unbeaten in the league and it will also be the first time in their history when they go on to win 3 consecutive games. KKR will have to rely heavily on their batsmen to chase such a humungous total.
