Chennai Super Kings seamer Deepak Chahar could not have bowled a better delivery than he did to knock over Punjab Kings opener Mayank Agarwal in the first over the innings.

It was a perfect delivery by Chahar- a swing bowler’s delight- one that would have been too good for any top-order batsmen.

It all happened on the 4th delivery of the first over when Deepak Chahar pitched the ball on middle and leg, only to completely square up Mayank Agarwal, as the ball moved wickedly to hit the top of off-stump.

Mayank was completely bamboozled as was KL Rahul at the other end as Deepak Chahar and the Chennai Super Kings outfit celebrated their first powerplay wicket of IPL 2021.

Deepak Chahar could have dismissed ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle in the same over after the southpaw got lulled into an ill-fated drive on an outswinger straight to point where Ruturaj Gaikwad dropped a sitter.

Gayle has followed it up with consecutive boundaries off Chahar in the following over and CSK will hope that the drop doesn’t prove to be a costly one.

Mayank’s dismissal was Deepak Chahar’s 60th wicket in the powerplay since 2016; no bowler has taken more than him.
