Deepak Chahar delivered a good length delivery swinging away from the opener and Mayers was caught on the crease, he did no feet movement and attempted the drive and the ball took an outside edge and Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan took the catch.

Indian players started celebrating as soon as Ishan Kishan took the catch but the on-field umpire KN Anantha Padmanabhan was not convinced. Captain Rohit Sharma immediately went for the review and there was a spike on Ultra edge and Mayers had to walk back to the pavilion.

Young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan opened the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad and captain Rohit Sharma demoted himself in the batting order. Both the openers failed to deliver a good performance for the Indian team. Ruturaj Gaikwad got out in the 3rd ball of the third over and then Shreyas Iyer and Kishan had a very good partnership.

Hayden Walsh came to bowl the 9th over of the match and he dismissed middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer in the third ball. In the very next over spinner, Roston Chase castled opener Ishan Kishan.

Rohit Sharma, batting at no.4, played a very poor knock of 7 runs off 15 balls and he was dismissed in the 5th ball of the 14th over.

In the end, Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer once again performed exceptionally well for the Indian team. They added 91 runs off 37 balls and helped India post 184 runs.
