The 31-year-old India National Cricket Team right-arm medium-pacer Harshal Patel has returned to fitness training after being ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022. Earlier today, Harshal shared a few videos of him training in the gym at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore

Harshal Patel, who has been India’s one of the most successful T20I pacers since the completion of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, was struggling with a rib injury and he got ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup along with premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah, which was a major blow to Team India.

The Asia Cup 2022, which is the 15th edition of the tournament, is scheduled to be played from August 27 to September 11. The entire tournament is set to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Harshal Patel took to Instagram to state that the injury-enforced break will allow him to train without thinking about the competition. He added that he is looking forward to getting “stronger faster and more robust”.

“Back to the grind!! Sometimes the silver lining with injury is that it allows you the time to train without thinking about competition which is precious. Looking forward to these 3-4 weeks of getting stronger, faster and more robust,” the pacer wrote.
