That Kieron Pollard is one of the great characters of the game is not a hidden fact and we got to see another evidence of his colorful character during the fixture between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.
It all happened on the third ball of the 18th over when Chris Morris, after having been hit for a four and a six by Pollard, followed it up with a sharp bumper.
Pollard ducked underneath the ball but it struck his helmet and the ball trickled away towards the boundary at the fine-leg region.
And, Pollard, unflustered by the fact that he had been struck on the helmet, hilariously waved at the ball to reach the fence.
Pollard stroked a whirlwind 8-ball 16 which included two fours and an audacious six and it was him who stroked the winning runs for his team.
The win, however, was set-up by a brilliant spell of 2/15 in four overs by Jasprit Bumrah which was ably backed up by an audacious unbeaten 50-ball 70* by Ishan Kishan and a valuable 26-ball 39 by Krunal Pandya, who was promoted to the No.4 spot in the batting order, as Mumbai Indians gunned down the target of 172 with nine balls to spare.
