Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam gave a death stare to a reporter, apparently Shoaib Jutt, and stormed out of a post-match press conference after ignoring a query.

Babar was attending a press conference after the first Test of the two-match series between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and the New Zealand National Cricket Team at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The press conference ended on a rather tense note, as the reporter got irritated after repeatedly being ignored by the Pakistan National Cricket Team captain.

As Babar Azam was leaving the press conference, the reporter Shoaib Jutt shouted: “Ye koi tareeka nahi hain, yaha sawaal ke lie aapko ishaare kar rahe hain (This is not the way, I’m making repeated gestures to ask a question).”

Babar, however, didn’t stop and gave the reporter a death stare while going out of the presser room. Also, the media manager was quick to switch off the microphone.

Notably, Babar’s reaction came seemingly in a response to a harshly-worded question by the journalist to Nauman Ali after the play on Day 4. The reporter had told Ali that he had scored centuries with the ball in the last few innings. The spinner handled the question calmly, but the Pakistan captain seems to be annoyed.

Definitely a brave declaration – Babar Azam

The first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand ended in a draw after Pakistan declared the innings on 311 for 8 to set a target of 138 in the final hour of the Test in Karachi.

Speaking after the match, Babar Azam said that they made a brave declaration. He added that they wanted to see a result in the match.

“Definitely a brave declaration. We wanted to see a result, the light wasn’t good enough. Our fifth bowler was Salman, but after the first innings he wasn’t well, he was sick for two days. I don’t think we were a bowler short. The way Saud and Wasim Jr played, credit to them for playing positive cricket and getting up that partnership,” Babar said after the match.
