Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins had an emotional reunion with his fiancée Becky Boston, who is pregnant. Cummins and other Australian players and support staff were finally released from quarantine which they underwent after coming from the Maldives.
More than 30 Australian players and staff were stranded on the island after they were returning from India after the IPL 2021 was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the franchises’ bio-bubbles. Australia PM Scott Morrison had announced a ban on entry of citizens from foreign lands including India till May 15, which was later extended.

Therefore the Australian contingent moved to the Maldives in the meantime as they waited for the ban to end and that they could fly back home. It took an awfully long time for the Australian government to lift the ban, but things were further complicated as all those entering the country had to undergo hard quarantine in Sydney.

The Australian cricketers had been away from home for more than two months and there were calls from family members to return home early. Pat Cummins’ fiancé Becky had recently announced on Instagram that she and Cummins were expecting their first baby.
On Sunday, a video of Pat Cummins meeting his pregnant partner emerged online. In the video, an emotional Cummins is seen hugging his partner Becky, uncontrollably. Apart from Cummins, Steve Smith and David Warner were among others to have completed a quarantine in Sydney.
Renowned sports presenter from Australia, Chloe-Amanda Bailey, posted the video on her Twitter account. The video showed Becky rushing to hug Pat Cummins as he came out of his hotel quarantine.

“Video of the day! After eight weeks away for the IPL, Pat Cummins finally leaves hotel quarantine and reunites with his pregnant partner Becky. All the feels!,” Chloe-Amanda Bailey wrote.

It has been reported that Pat Cummins has withdrawn from the second half of the IPL 2021 which is slated to begin in the UAE from September 19 onwards. The BCCI decided to move the remaining 31 matches of the tournament including the three playoffs and the final of IPL 14, after rising cases of COVID-19 made it impossible to resume the tournament in India itself.
