Rohit Sharma’s indifferent knock of 43 off 32 balls finally came to an end after he chopped it onto his stumps in the 16th over in what is a crucial wicket for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
It all happened on the second ball of the 16th over when Australian pacer Pat Cummins cleverly took the pace off the ball.
With no pace to work on the attempted cut-shot, Rohit Sharma could only manage to find an inside edge of his bat and chop it back on his stumps.
The wicket has come at a crucial time for Kolkata Knight Riders as Rohit Sharma was finally looking to tee off after a cautious start against the spin of Shakib Al Hasan.
Rohit, who had meandered his way to a 25-ball 29, has struck a four and a six in the last two overs before his dismissal.
His dismissal has triggered yet another collapse for the Mumbai Indians, who have lost Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Marco Jansen in quick succession to Prasidh Krishna and Andre Russell.
At the time of writing, Andre Russell had chipped in with his third, fourth and fifth wicket in the form of Krunal Pandya [15 of 9] Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Chahar to bowl out MI for 152.
