IPL 2021: Watch: Sandeep Sharma Flexes His Reflexes With An Excellent Return Catch Of Nicholas Pooran

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Sandeep Sharma took an excellent reflex catch off his bowling during their game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday. Nicholas Pooran had hit him for a maximum off the previous ball but Sandeep had the last laugh.

As is the norm so far in the second leg of IPL 2021, SRH chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The track was once again on the slower side, a trend that is expected to continue even into the upcoming T20 World Cup. The PBKS openers, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal struggled to get their timing right.

Both fell one after the other in the same over to Jason Holder. ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle found it hard to get going as well but managed to stick around with Aiden Markram for a while. Gayle was dismissed by Rashid Khan, the sixth time the Afghan spinner has taken the 42-year-old’s wicket.

In walked Nicholas Pooran who showed intent from ball one. He tried to attack the first two balls he faced from Sandeep but didn’t get the desired result. The third time was the charm however as he launched one out of the park which was incidentally PBKS’ first six of the night.

Pooran was immediately sent back as Sandeep stormed back. The bowler opted to go for the slower ball and the West Indian batsman was completely outfoxed. He was through with the shot early and ended up sending it back to the bowler. Sandeep palmed it in his first attempt before holding on to it the second time around.

The wicket left PBKS in complete disarray at 66/4 in the 12th over. A loss in the game for Rahul’s men could prove to be extremely detrimental to their chances of making it to the playoffs.
