The IPL fever is about to start today with the resumption of the second phase in UAE where plenty of entertainment took place last season and centuries are about to be witnessed. The first phase of IPL 2021 was suspended midway with the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

BCCI decided to change the second phase of IPL 2021 to a more comfortable and less tricky place. AB De Villiers is fifth on the list of players who scored the fastest centuries in IPL history and he brought up his century in just 43 deliveries. The 360-degree batter from South Africa has been playing a vital role for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time now.

He finished with 129 in 52 balls coming in at three and with Virat’s century as well, RCB raised to 248 for the loss of three wickets. Gujarat lost the game by 144 runs in the end and De Villiers bagged the man of the match award. He hit 12 sixes and 10 fours in the innings.

Adam Gilchrist is second in the list of batsmen with the fastest centuries in IPL and the Australian legend smashed a century off 42 balls. Gilchrist opened the innings for the Deccan Chargers in the 2008 edition and was also unbeaten in the end.

The left-hander hit 10 sixes and 9 fours in the innings and finished his innings at a strike rate of 231.91. It was one of the best innings in the inaugural edition and Deccan Charger went on to win the game as well with 8 overs remaining and 10 wickets in hand.

David Miller is popularly known as the “killer miller” for his ability to smash the balls out of the stadium and this was one of his brilliant innings in the IPL. He scored the third fastest century in IPL history against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2013 season playing for the Kings XI Punjab.

Miller’s century came in just 38 balls when the team was totally under pressure and he changed the game on its head. His useful partnership alongside R Satish led the way for a big turnaround in the game and Punjab chased down the score with two overs to spare. Miller hit eight fours and seven humungous sixes in the innings.

Yusuf Pathan is one of the best strikers of the cricket ball in Indian cricket history and he was a sensation in the IPL when it started. He holds the record for the second-fastest century in IPL history and he achieved the feat in the 2010 edition playing for the Rajasthan Royals.

The right-hander smashed a 37 ball century against the Mumbai Indians in a massive chase of 213 but couldn’t take his team over the line. Rajasthan lost the game by just 4 runs despite the heroics from Yusuf Pathan who hit eight sixes and nine fours in the innings.

It is not a surprise that Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest century in the Indian Premier League history and he managed to create the record in the 2013 season for the RCB side. Gayle raised to the three-figure mark in just 30 balls astonishingly and kept the whole crowd agitated.

Gayle finished the innings with the highest individual score in T20 cricket with 175 off just 66 deliveries and smacked 17 sixes and 13 fours in the innings. RCB went on to win the game against Pune Warriors side by a huge margin of 130 runs in the end.
