Virat Kohli Eleventh In Instagram's Top-Earners' List

There is little denying that Virat Kohli is by far the most marketable cricketer in the world right now. His unprecedented batting exploits on the cricket field coupled with his attitude and good looks have made him a youth icon across the globe. Virat Kohli is the most popular cricketer on social media right now and his stocks are only growing with each passing day.

And the fact that Virat Kohli is the only cricketer in the top 20 list of highest earners from Instagram last year is a testament of that. The list is led by football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal captain scooped a staggering £38million just on the social media platform last year followed by his football rival Lionel Messi.

Buzz Bingo looked at the total number of promoted posts by each star over the last 12 months and divided that amount by the declared earnings for that period. It found that Ronaldo made 34 sponsored posts on Instagram over the year, raking in £38.2m for his efforts. Messi is second in the list after making 36 sponsored posts and collecting a total of £18.7m.

Reality TV star Kendall Jenner is the third highest earner over the same period, making £12.7m while former footballer David Beckham was fourth. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is ranked eleventh in the list. He made 6 sponsored posts on Instagram last year and made $1.18M. The India cricket captain charged $196,000 per post.

Virat Kohli, meanwhile, is currently leading India in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. In the last Test, he scored an unbeaten double century to help his team win the game and clinch the series.
