Though Virat Kohli is called the run machine of the Indian team, the flamboyant batsman has got a few issues with leg spinners. We have seen him getting troubled on international stage and also in Indian Premier League (IPL). The recent one of all came in New Zealand when Ish Sodhi bowled a brilliant googly to get rid of Virat Kohli.
It wasn’t the first time that Kohli was seen surprised after failing to tackle the leg-spinner. It took place in England against Adil Rashid and also lost his wicket in IPL to the bowlers like Rashid Khan and Shreyas Gopal.

Speaking of the same, Sodhi asserted that Kohli might have been dismissed most number of times against the leg-spinners but also scored the most number of runs against them. He feels the bowlers must be on their toes and must plan every single delivery to restrict Kohli in the middle.

“Even though leg spinners get him out, he scores a lot of runs off them as well. Virat is a batsman you need to constantly attack or else he puts the pressure back on you. You need to come up with plans and be really courageous while bowling to him,” Ish Sodhi told PTI.
The skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team Kohli is often regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world cricket. A few of the experts have called him as the current number one batsman while a few of them call him a modern great.

Sodhi, who is just 27, will be seen in the upcoming IPL, in a new role, where he will assist Rajasthan Royals (RR) as their spin consultant.
Surprisingly, Sodhi failed to get a spot in the Test setup, especially after a good show in the three-day practice game.
New Zealand went with Ajaz Patel, who replaced Mitchell Santner.
