Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma And Shikhar Dhawan Gain In Latest ODI Rankings

India and Australia players made giant strides and moved up the ladder in the 50-over format. Indian captain Virat Kohli and limited-overs’ vice-captain Rohit Sharma have consolidated their positions while opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan gained positions in MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after significant performances in the three-match ODI series against Australia.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who are ranked No.1 and No.2 in the rankings gained two and three rating points. Currently, Virat Kohli stands on top with 886 points after being named the man of the series against Australia. Kohli accumulated as many as 183 runs which included a handy 78 and 89 in the second and third ODI.
Rohit Sharma who was the second-best Indian batsmen in the series chipped in with an aggregate score of 171 runs including a match-winning 119 in the final ODI in Bengaluru. Rohit is placed second with 868 points and has now strengthened his position. Pakistan’s best batsman Babar Azam follows next on the list with 829 points.
Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja advance in latest ODI rankings
Shikhar Dhawan has gained seven places to reach 15th position with 170 runs in two matches, missing a big chance to bat in Bengaluru after picking up a shoulder injury while fielding. KL Rahul, who opened the batting for India alongside Rohit Sharma in the third and final ODI, has now gained 21 slots to reach 50th position with an overall tally of 146 runs.
Meanwhile, all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has moved up two notches to take the 27th spot among bowlers after finishing the ODI series with four wickets to his name. He also scored 45 runs in two games and has gained four places in the all-rounders’ list to be ranked 10th. England all-rounder Ben Stokes retains the top spot in all-rounders’ rankings with 304 points.

Australia’s best batsman Steve Smith, who topped the ODI series in Inia with an aggregate of 229 runs including a top knock of 131 in the final ODI gained four places to take the 23rd position. His partner-in-crime David Warner has moved up one place to sixth while skipper Aaron Finch has moved up one place into 10th place. Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey is currently in 31st position after gaining two places.
Crafty leg-spinner Adam Zampa who showcased his mettle in the ODI series picked five wickets to his name that saw him advance 20 places to reach 37th position while fast bowler Kane Richardson has moved from 77th to 65th in the latest ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings.
