Former Indian opener and arguably the most destructive batsman during his heydays, Virender Sehwag expressed his eagerness to watch Pakistan spearhead Mohammad Amir in action in the T10 League which is scheduled to commence from today at the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the inaugural T10 tournament which is expected to excite the crowds and take the game to another level.

Sehwag who will be leading the Maratha Arabians in the inaugural edition of the T10 League feels that the tournament might well be an exciting new concept. The swashbuckling batsman who tormented star-studded bowling line-ups during his peak was looking forward to playing alongside T20 superstars including the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Kamran Akmal and Lendl Simmons.

Bravo is undoubtedly one of the best all-rounders in the shortest format of the game, and his record in T20 leagues is simply exceptional and goes on to prove why he is being touted as an asset to any T20 team.

“I am pretty excited to return to cricket, but there are cricketers who I want to see including Bravo, Simmons, Rilee Russouw and Kamran Akmal,” Sehwag said.

Virender Sehwag continued his trolling on Twitter.

“Furthermore, I want to see Amir bowling, in particular, to see what he thinks and plans while bowling,” Sehwag was quoted as saying by the local media.

Sehwag feels that for this format a team needs proper batsman and bowlers as the format is a skill-based one. It will be an exciting tournament with many great cricketers set to take part in the tournament.

It will be the first time Sehwag will be seen in action since 2015 All-Star Series comprising of many all-time greats of the game. He looked in great touch during that tournament and treated the retired bowlers with disdain.

It was Sehwag who redefined opening batting in Test cricket. It was his promotion as an opener in the longest format of the game which not only shaped his career but also helped India to get off to sensational starts.
